JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Systems Administrator role is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and help maintain the organization's computer systems, networks, on-premise and cloud-hosted systems and servers. Must also be knowledgeable in VoIP/cloud telephony solutions knowledge of RingCentral is a big plus. This role will also help support the IT helpdesk with day-to-day incident resolution.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • VoIP and Cloud Telephony Support: Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain VoIP systems and cloud telephony platforms to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Experienced with call IVR’s and scripting within a cloud hosted telephony platform, specifically RingCentral
  • Participate in the helpdesk queue providing technical support for incident resolution.
  • Follow up and update help desk case status and information daily.
  • Modify system configurations, utilities, software, and hardware settings as per service tickets, occasionally following change management protocols.
  • Assist with onboarding new users and integrating them into IT and telephony systems.
  • Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software (pre-staging and onsite).
  • Assign users and devices to appropriate groups in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Assist with administration and management of Microsoft 365 suite, including: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and Azure Active Directory.
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as needed.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and VoIP/telephony applications.
  • Assist with administration of Fortinet firewalls, HPE Aruba switches and other network devices.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with VoIP and cloud telephony platforms
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, MS Azure, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Server management (print services, group policy, file services)
  • Working knowledge of IP-based networking, switching, and telephony systems
  • Experience with desktop backup software for replication and recovery
  • Knowledge of infrastructure cabling and wiring
  • Expertise in network-attached printers/scanners
  • Familiarity with audio/visual conference room equipment
  • Computer hardware knowledge (laptops, desktops, and mobile devices)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership aptitude and ability to collaborate effectively with teams

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree
  • A 4-year technical degree (BS/BA) in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent is preferred

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, MCP, MCSA are a plus
  • Cloud-based certifications (Azure, AWS) are highly desirable
  • Certifications in VoIP systems (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, or similar platforms) or cloud telephony solutions are a big plus

HYBRID WORKING & COLLABORATION WEEKS

To foster HCI’s commitment to creating a collaborative work environment, remote workers will be required to report to a central office location for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises. Attendance during collaboration weeks is a vital component of our team culture, and therefore mandatory unless exceptions are approved through Human Resources. Additionally, employees may be asked to report to the office outside of collaboration weeks as project requirements, team meetings, or other organizational needs that necessitate in-person collaboration occur.
