Enterprise Architect

Position Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Charlotte, NC
Compensation: 120,000 - 160,000

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a global architecture team in a senior technical leadership capacity. This role is responsible for defining and governing enterprise-wide architecture across applications, platforms, data, cloud, and emerging technologies — with AI and agentic automation serving as key strategic enablers.

You will set architectural direction, establish standards and guardrails, and ensure scalable, secure, and well-governed technology solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & AI Enablement

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture across application, data, integration, cloud, and platform domains
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, and reference models
  • Ensure consistent adoption of enterprise patterns across initiatives
  • Integrate AI, automation, and analytics capabilities into the broader enterprise architecture
  • Align technology strategy with business objectives and long-term roadmap

Technical Leadership

  • Provide architectural leadership across large-scale enterprise initiatives
  • Guide solution architects and engineering teams on critical design decisions
  • Define reusable architectural patterns and shared platform capabilities
  • Serve as design authority for complex, cross-domain solutions
  • Balance innovation with security, stability, and operational maturity

Governance & Standards

  • Establish governance models for platforms, integrations, data, and AI-enabled solutions
  • Define security, compliance, and risk guardrails in collaboration with security teams
  • Review and approve solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Promote observability, resiliency, and operational readiness by design

Solution Design & Platform Evolution

  • Review and approve AI solution architectures, including GenAI use cases
  • Identify reusable components and shared services
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and enterprise platforms
  • Drive the evolution of enterprise AI platform capabilities
  • Define platform roadmaps and integration strategies

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles
  • Strong experience with large-scale, distributed enterprise systems
  • Proven track record designing cloud-native and hybrid architectures
  • Deep understanding of data, integration, and platform architecture
  • Experience integrating AI and automation into enterprise environments

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Enterprise architecture frameworks, principles, and governance models
  • Application, data, integration, and cloud architecture
  • Security, compliance, and risk management considerations
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
  • API-driven and event-driven architectures
  • Data architecture, governance, and integration patterns
  • Ability to translate business strategy into executable architecture
  • Strong executive-level communication skills

Technical Expertise:

  • Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies
  • RAG architectures and implementation patterns
  • Cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Enterprise integration patterns
  • Security and compliance frameworks
  • Data architecture and governance

The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
