Spatial Front, inc. is seeking a hands-on Database Administrator to join our team supporting our federal client.

Summary of Major Job Functions:

• Monitor clustered & replicated database systems health and configurations daily.
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases in the operational, QA, and development environments as well as remediate problems/issues in a timely manner.
• Perform day-to-day operational activities including troubleshoot, break/fix, and failovers.
• Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deploy clustered & replicated database systems within the operational, QA, and development environments.
• Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
• Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
• Monitor backups and maintenance jobs.
• Identify and tune badly performing queries.
• Provide assistance with ad-hoc query development and data analysis.
• Provide 24x7x365 on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Be a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of work.

• BA/BS Degree with at least 6-8 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 4 years of additional experience is required.
• 6+ Years of IT experience, specifically in a DBA role
• 6+ years working with MongoDB in an enterprise environment
• 6+ years working with Sybase in an enterprise environment
• Good team player with strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work under pressure and multi-task
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Production experience with PostgreSQL & PostGIS
• Production experience with MySQL/MariaDB
• Production experience with MS SQL Server
• Production experience with Redis
• Current or previous government contract experience
• Familiarity with the Ansible Platform and writing playbooks
• Familiarity with VMWare using VMWare vCenter

Other Information

• The salary for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 annually
• This role offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with the understanding that occasional on-site presence may be required to support client needs
