Position Summary

We are seeking a Risk Data Scientist with 2+ years of experience to join our Dallas-based team. This role will focus on building, validating, and deploying risk models that drive underwriting, fraud detection, and portfolio management strategies. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, hands-on with data, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Risk, Operations, and Engineering teams. Reporting directly to the Head of Risk, this is a high-visibility position with a high impact potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Query and manipulate large datasets using SQL
• Perform statistical analysis to identify risk trends and profitability drivers
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI
• Develop, validate, and monitor credit risk, fraud, and collection models using Python
• Conduct A/B testing and performance tracking for risk and marketing strategies
• Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights
• Partner with Engineering to deploy and monitor production models
• Support regulatory and compliance-related analytics as needed

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data science, risk analytics, or related field
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation
• Advanced Python skills (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, etc.)
• Experience with Power BI for reporting and dashboard development
• Strong foundation in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
• Hands-on experience with machine learning model development and evaluation
• Experience working with large, structured datasets
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience with FastAPI for model serving or API development
• Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, model deployment pipelines)
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience in financial services or consumer lending

Work Location: This is an on-site position based in our Dallas headquarters.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
