Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis to oversee the collection, storage, and interpretation of data to support decision-making across various business functions. You will work with large datasets and utilize advanced analytical techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in our operations, sales processes and customer engagement.

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
  • Create and maintain data pipelines to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Utilize Microsoft Fabric to manage and process large datasets efficiently.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize data and present insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance of data models and algorithms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric for data management and processing.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the building products distribution industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices.
