<Job Summary>

<Duties>

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of SQL databases including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle systems.
  • Support high availability solutions to minimize downtime and ensure reliable access to critical data.
  • Help develop and execute scripts using Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks.
  • Contribute to performance tuning efforts by analyzing query performance, indexing strategies, and system resources for optimal database efficiency.
  • Assist in designing and implementing database structures, including tables, indexes, and relationships aligned with project requirements.
  • Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) to facilitate data integration workflows.
  • Monitor database health through regular checks, backups, recovery procedures, and security audits to safeguard data integrity.

<Requirements>

  • Basic understanding of SQL language including writing queries and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server environments is essential; knowledge of Oracle databases is a plus.
  • Exposure to high availability configurations such as clustering or replication techniques.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and shell scripting (Bash or Unix shell) for automation tasks.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning principles for databases and queries.
  • Understanding of database design concepts including normalization, indexing, and schema development.
  • Ability to support ETL workflows using tools like SSIS or similar data integration platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; eager to learn new technologies related to database administration. Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.94 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
