This is a full-time contractor position for a US Citizen located in the Indianapolis, IN area. The successful candidate will either be located within the Indianapolis local commute area or willing to travel to provide on-site network engineering support as needed.
Network Engineer/Architect position is responsible for designing computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, and other data communications systems. An ideal candidate is an expert in IP networking work and creates, tests, and evaluates networks.
Responsibilities: Network Engineer will support multiple projects and will:
- Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
- Provide Cisco network design and implementation support to include all aspects of routing, switching, and security architecture.
- Assist in the development of network bill of material for requests for quotes.
- Perform network designs, analysis, test, and inspect data communications systems.
- Provide support for establishing and troubleshooting WAN connectivity.
- Break down technical network solutions into a roadmap of changes for the network engineers which define the least risk for the business.
- Break down technical network solutions into language for customer leadership.
- Provide written documentation to include design documents, network diagrams.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years CISCO network architecture experience – design, test, and inspection of data center systems. Highly proficient in Routers and Switches and IP Subnetting.
- Experience developing technical road maps, test plans and project timelines.
- Experience with hands-on network hardware and software installations, upgrades, and configurations, and managing technology vendors.
- Willing to travel to customer locations, and support after hour network implementations supporting the network engineers.
- BS/BA degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- CISCO certification, preferably architect-level CCIE Certification desired.
United States citizenship (with a clearable background if the candidate does not have an active Secret Clearance).
