About 19th Judicial District Court

The Nineteenth Judicial District Court is one of Louisiana’s 43 judicial districts and has original jurisdiction of all civil and criminal matters in East Baton Rouge Parish. There are fifteen elected judges (Division A through Division O) in the 19 JDC and four appointed commissioners.

About the role

Provides strategic leadership for the agency’s IT department, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, network operations, vendor relationships, and budget management to ensure robust, reliable, and secure technology services aligned with governmental objectives.

Location & commitments

  • Office of the Judicial Administrator, 19 Judicial District Court
  • Full-time with a 35-hour work week
  • Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • On-site in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance at a specified location in order to perform assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of public sector IT infrastructure, network architecture, cloud services, and cybersecurity protocols
  • Grant management and the ability to manage large-scale budgets, vendor contracts, and compliance with government procurement procedures
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills with the ability to coach and develop IT teams
  • Court inventory and surplus management
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with executives, staff, and external partners
  • Ability to work onsite across offices, data centers, and occasionally participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving ability
  • Eligible for appropriate security clearances, as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years in IT with at least 4–6 years supervisory experience; equivalent work experience may qualify
  • Certifications: CISSP, PMP, ITIL, CISM
  • Knowledge of CLS and CSS systems for court case management
  • Prior experience with Microsoft 365, audio-visual systems, and telecommunications platforms

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
