Job description
Summary
We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide support for troubleshooting industrial electron beams. This work is performed in house and remotely. This position applies knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes such as high voltage, high vacuum, PID loops, controls, printed circuit board operation, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly. Responsible for creating, modifying, and updating knowledge-based documents, databases, and training materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary technical contact and point person to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues submitted by customers and/or field service technicians.
- Troubleshoots control systems remotely using knowledge of PID loops.
- Interface with electrical and mechanical engineering and design departments to understand system designs, PLC, HMI, power supplies, and drive software.
- Consults with and advises engineering department of problems discovered in the course of providing technical support.
- Monitors and creates remote report/inspection of electron beams.
- Maintains a service ticket or log program which ensures quality and timely customer response and identifies recurring issues guidelines.
- Creates, modifies, and updates knowledge-based documents, procedures, databases, and training materials.
- Conducts formal training with customers as required.
- Perform on call duties on a rotating basis.
Qualifications
- Education generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex industrial machinery and systems.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair PID loops using oscilloscopes.
- Strong maintenance or trouble shooting background.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply logical reasoning to solve technical problems.
- Must be willing to travel as needed, including international, and obtain a passport and drivers license for on-site service calls.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
