Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automation/OT Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Kelly Box & Packaging’s emerging operational technology (OT), SCADA and automated manufacturing infrastructure. This position will work closely with operations and IT teams to develop and support projects, maintain local systems and provide troubleshooting and technical support, ensuring quality of the delivery, availability and performance of OT, SCADA, robotics and automation systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline / equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years’ administering process controls networks, OT or IT infrastructure for manufacturing operations.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in programming and/or maintaining automated control systems (PLCs, motion, HMIs, vision systems, robotics, safety systems, and data collection)
- Experience designing, maintaining, and delivering new automated equipment infrastructures.

- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Travel is required between Fort Wayne plants and Indianapolis plants based on job needs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining automation systems and processes in the factory.
- Development and maintenance of secure 3rd party access and remote connectivity to the factory systems.
- Manage roadmap of data automation and analytics through UNS; facilitate manual process obsolescence.
- Create documentation of OT infrastructure and maintain library of documentation.
- Create documentation of OT network systems and maintain library of documentation.
- Work with third party vendors and system integrators, specifying hardware and software for controls, automation projects and project management.
- Evaluate legacy OT systems and offer strategic recommendations for improvements, migrations, or replacements, considering criticality and risk.
