Job description

Aero Global Logistics an industry-leading Dedicated Delivery provider has an immediate opening for a motivated and experienced Fleet Dispatcher in our automotive and retail cross-dock operation. This position's hours are 5 PM to 12 AM or whenever the last truck is dispatched out Monday night through Friday night.

SUMMARY:

START TIME 5:00 pm to 1:00 am

· The primary function of this position is to ensure proper fleet management of assigned drivers and fleet by leveraging the appropriate dispatch process.

· The Dispatcher will work under the direction of the assigned Manager/Supervisor to efficiently manage dispatch operations, driver safety and retention.

· The position requires professional communications, computer, and presentation skills.

· The position represents the company in a positive image with employees, customers, and the community always performing in a safe and ethical manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manages the daily dispatch functions for all assigned drivers. Maintains knowledge of all processes and procedures required to execute assigned tasks.

· Communicates delivery and driver issues to the Manager/Supervisor on duty and records all issues in a nightly dispatch summary.

· Works with safety and compliance, recruiting and human resources to exceed driver retention and safety targets.

· Responsible for assisting the Leadership Team as it relates to holding assigned drivers accountable to DOT regulations, operations, equipment usage, and the administration of company policies.

· Responsible for communicating with customers regarding any changes to delivery schedules or freight exceptions

· Responsible for achieving the assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) targets,

· Demonstrates proficiency in the use of fleet tracking software

· Maintains basic knowledge in the trucking industry on Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

· Manages operational standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety to ensure on-time departures and delivery.

· Works with assigned drivers to meet/exceed expected service targets

· Briefs drivers on route details and expectations – ensure DVIR’s, pre-and post-trip inspections, and end of the route de-briefs are done

· Works as a member of the team to successfully complete action plans assigned by the Terminal Manager/Supervisor to ensure results are realized.

· May be required to attend meetings as necessary and provide updates on the activities of the day.

· Required to adhere to all DOT and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

· May assist with interviewing, hiring, and training drivers.

· Assists with analyzing performance gaps and creating action plans to address performance issues.

· Responsible for continuous improvement and innovation as it related to improving processes, addressing performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· 2 to 5 years in a similar role within a high paced environment

· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in management, transportation, or a related field is desired.

· High school diploma or GED is required

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Must possess strong interpersonal skills.

· Must demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral.

· Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects.

· Must possess excellent personal computer skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e., Word, Outlook, and Excel.

· Knowledge of Transportation fleet models; Customer Service; Project Management; Continuous Improvement deliverables.

· Experience in DOT regulations and compliance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1,154.00 per week
