Job description
The successful candidate for the role of statistician will play a critical role in advancing the Department of Emergency Medicine's growing research enterprise by providing expert statistical consulting and data analytics support. This role will collaborate closely with faculty investigators, research staff, and other members of study teams to ensure robust study design, accurate data interpretation, and high-quality research outputs.
The statistician will be responsible for designing and implementing statistical methodologies, conducting data analyses for clinical and translational research studies. In addition to supporting specific research projects, the statistician will act as a key resource for faculty and research staff, advising on dataset design and analysis plans. Some scientific writing will be required. The role may also involve mentoring trainees on statistical methodologies and fostering growth for learners in health professions and associated fields.
This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to communicate complex statistical concepts effectively to a diverse audience, including clinicians, research staff, and trainees. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large clinical datasets, electronic health records (EHR), and advanced statistical techniques applicable to emergency medicine research.
