Jr. Network/ Systems Administrator

Description:

Individuals will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also manage, analyze and resolve system hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training where required.

Responsibilities

· Monitor, implement, and maintain policies and procedures of networks and systems.

· Deploy company LANs, WANs, WLAN, and WWAN including Firewalls, routers, switches, and other system hardware.

· Configure networks & systems to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

· Monitor systems for performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.

· Collaborate with department leaders to assess near- and long-term needs.

· Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.

· Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system & network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

· Conduct research on new products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.

· Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

Position Requirements

· 5+ years supporting Information Technology.

· Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.

· Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.

· Proven experience with system capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.

· Knowledge of Security Infrastructure .

· Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

· Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

· Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.

· Strong customer service orientation.

· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Work Conditions

· On-call and some after-hours work required.

· Sitting for extended periods.

· Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
