Job Summary
We’re looking for a versatile Full Stack Developer to join our federal‐sector team, focusing primarily on React with supporting Ruby on Rails expertise. You’ll partner with cross-functional colleagues to architect, build, and maintain responsive web applications and APIs throughout the full software lifecycle. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and U.S. citizenship (for clearance).
Clearance
- Public Trust (must be a U.S. citizen able to pass background investigation)
Responsibilities
- React Front-End
- Create and enhance user-friendly interfaces using React, React Hooks, Context API, and memoization.
- Manage application state and async data flows with Redux/RTK Query.
- Implement styles via modern CSS techniques and established design systems.
- Rails Back-End
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs in Ruby on Rails.
- Integrate server-side logic with front-end components and external services.
- General Software Engineering
- Write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code (RSpec, MiniTest, Cypress, Jest).
- Participate in Agile rituals: sprint planning, standups, demos, retrospectives.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and bugs across the stack.
- Document architecture decisions, coding standards, and technical processes.
- Conduct and contribute to peer code reviews.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Proven track record building and deploying React applications end-to-end
- Hands-on experience developing and consuming Rails-based APIs
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile/Scrum workflows
- Demonstrated test-driven development skills (Jest, RSpec, Cypress)
- Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team player
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior use of Formik and Yup for form handling in React
- Experience leveraging RTK Query for data fetching/state management
- Background with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment
- Working knowledge of Splunk or similar log-analysis/debugging tools
- Understanding of web accessibility standards and performance tuning
- Federal agency experience (USCIS, DHS, etc.) is a plus
