As an Azure Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and Application teams to deliver enterprise-grade cloud solutions that meet business and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure IaaS and PaaS resources (VMs, VNets, App Services, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, API Management, etc.)
- Build secure landing zones following best practices (CAF, RBAC, governance policies)
- Implement Azure networking: vNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, VPN/ExpressRoute, Application Gateway/Firewalls
- Manage identity configurations and integrations using Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and PIM
Automation & DevOps
- Develop infrastructure-as-code using Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, or PowerShell
- Automate deployments, updates, and compliance using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Pipelines
- Build and maintain monitoring dashboards with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
Security & Compliance
- Implement Zero Trust and hardening standards across Azure resources
- Manage and monitor security tools such as Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and policy enforcement
- Support governance programs, audits, risk reviews, and incident response
Operations & Support
- Monitor performance, capacity, and cost optimization across Azure workloads
- Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure issues end-to-end (network, identity, compute, storage, app services)
- Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity for cloud-based systems
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical Azure services/sites
Skills & Experience
Technical Skills:
- 3–7+ years of hands-on Azure engineering experience, ideally in an enterprise environment
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking, security controls, and identity
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform/Bicep), scripting (PowerShell), and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with hybrid environments including Azure Arc, on-prem AD, virtualization (VMware/Nutanix), and site-to-site connectivity
- Deep understanding of monitoring, alerting, logging, cost management, and FinOps
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
- Excellent communication skills with engineering, business, and leadership teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing, multi-site enterprise
- Ownership mindset and willingness to document, automate, and continuously improve
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500)
- ITIL, CompTIA Cloud+, or similar frameworks (nice-to-have)
