Job description

ProviderTrust Summary

ProviderTrust was founded in 2010 with a mission to create safer healthcare for everyone through OIG and state Medicaid exclusion monitoring. Today, the organization has developed the industry’s most accurate dataset for ongoing exclusion monitoring and primary source verification, serving the nation’s top health systems, payers, and healthcare organizations. Our solutions monitor employees, vendors, provider networks, licenses, credentials, and more for OIG and state Medicaid exclusions, sanctions or disciplinary actions, license expirations, or suspensions. With a team of 100+ employees, our Nashville-based company has consistently been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work by Modern Healthcare, Inc. Magazine, and the Nashville Business Journal. As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that align with business objectives. You will work closely with our Product organization to provide project timeline estimates, best practices, and design artifacts across multiple initiatives. You will also collaborate closely with engineering teams to interpret requirements, guide architectural decisions, and ensure technical excellence across projects.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cloud-native design, event-driven architecture, microservices, modern data platforms, and emerging AI capabilities. This role requires strong AWS expertise, experience designing data-intensive systems using PostgreSQL, and familiarity with integrating AI/ML-powered solutions into production environments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software development and/or architecture roles
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, microservices, and event-driven architecture
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Strong experience designing and optimizing data solutions using PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing strategies, performance tuning, data modeling, and high availability strategies
  • Experience architecting data pipelines and integrating with modern data services
  • Foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts and experience integrating AI-enabled capabilities (e.g., LLM APIs, predictive models, intelligent automation, or analytics-driven features) into applications
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks such as HITRUST, HIPAA, and SOC 2
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and document end-to-end solutions that meet product and business requirements
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications and architectural diagrams
  • Architect and guide implementation of AWS-based cloud solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient
  • Design and oversee robust data architectures, including PostgreSQL schema design, data governance considerations, and performance optimization strategies
  • Evaluate and guide the implementation of AI-driven capabilities, ensuring responsible use, scalability, and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to ensure alignment of solutions
  • Ensure we are building the "right" solution rather than simply the fastest solution
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, methodologies, and industry trends
  • Support project planning, drive estimation and risk management efforts
  • Partner with engineering and security teams to ensure systems implement current and accurate security best practices, including HITRUST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 requirements
