Job Description: Estimator
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Perform quantity take-offs (on screen and off)
● Produce rough order of magnitude estimates based on conceptual plans.
● Create and send Invitation to Bid to Subcontractors
● Distribute and interpret plans, specifications, and details via Procore
● Create and update meeting minutes whether it be for OAC meetings, New Client Meetings, MEP Coordination, etc..
● Define scope gaps and plug allowances into estimates
● Work with design build subcontractors to develop the best quality scope for the Owner.
● Utilize bid leveling and understanding of projects to create budgets.
● Resolve unclear contract document issues, and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) to the applicable engineer, architect or consultant.
● Working knowledge and understanding of P6 Project Schedules
● Bring in and develop a reliable network of subcontractors.
Required Qualifications include:
● BS or BA in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, Architecture, Architectural Engineering or equivalent
● 2+ years’ experience in construction, working for a general contractor and / or developer.
● Multi-Family experience is a plus
● Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
● Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
● Detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Working knowledge of Bluebeam is a plus.
● Working knowledge of Procore is a plus.
