Job at a Glance
- Title: Udeploy Engineer
- Location: Hybrid remote (Prefers Tech Hubs first priority, would only consider remote for an absolute rockstar)
- Contract: W2 only, 12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
- Pay: $55-60/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
Overview
This role involves supporting enterprise-level infrastructure solutions with a focus on IBM UrbanCode Deploy (uDeploy) administration, upgrades, and license management. The candidate will work within a team to ensure platform stability, support automation frameworks, and contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines. The position offers opportunities for growth within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience with Kubernetes and / or Openshift and Helm deploying application services
- Experience with automation frameworks and tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Experience with the Jenkins platform, provisioning, configuring, and using automation like Jenkins Configuration as Code (JCasC)
- Experience programming and scripting (with languages like Golang, Python, Java/Groovy or Bash)
- Expertise with Git and platforms such as Atlassian BitBucket / GitHub Enterprise / Azure DevOps Server
- Experience with Continuous Integration & Delivery Best Practices
- Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, willing to take initiative and able to apply new technologies when appropriate
Required Skills
- Experience in CI / CD Pipelines with and understanding of integrating tools like Jenkins, Github, Jfrog Artifactory
- Experience developing Jenkins Shared Libraries in Groovy
- Experience with GitHub Actions
- Experience developing and integrating with APIs
- Expertise with Git and tools such as BitBucket / GitHub / Azure DevOps Server
- Coding experience (groovy, ansible, python etc..) Yes 6 + Years
- Experience with IBM license key center as well as the process of managing Udeploy licenses Yes 6 + Years
- Experiencing building and supporting Udeploy custom plugins (ex integration with ServiceNow) Yes 6 + Years
- Familiarity in working with and using RHEL Yes 6 + Years
- IBM UrbanCode Deploy (uDeploy) Yes 4 - 6 Years
- Installation, configuration and overall administration, software engineering and support Yes 6 + Years
- Onboarding of consumers of the Udeploy application Yes 6 + Years
