Job description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, and security of SHFB’s hybrid technology environment across all locations (New Orleans, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Houma). This role provides advanced technical support and operational ownership of cloud platforms, core infrastructure systems, endpoints, and enterprise applications.
The Systems Administrator partners closely with the Director of IT and SHFB’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology operations. This position plays a key role in cloud system management, security implementation, system upgrades, and continuous technology improvement initiatives.

Cloud & Identity Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, and related cloud-based systems.
- Manage user provisioning, group policies, role-based access control, and conditional access.
- Support and optimize SaaS applications and cloud integrations.
- Monitor system health, performance, and license utilization.
Systems & Infrastructure Management
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of systems, endpoints, and applications.
- Manage patching, updates, and configuration standards across the environment.
- Support hybrid infrastructure components and coordinate upgrades.
- Maintain systems documentation, configuration records, and asset lifecycle tracking.
Security & Risk Management
- Implement security best practices across cloud and endpoint environments.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and security hardening efforts.
- Support backup management, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity planning.
- Collaborate with MSP on incident response and threat mitigation.
Endpoint & Device Management
- Administer endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune or equivalent).
- Standardize device configurations, deployment processes, and patch compliance.
- Provide Tier III support for escalated technical issues.
MSP Coordination & Technical Oversight
- Serve as primary internal escalation point for advanced technical issues.
- Work with MSP on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor ticket progress and ensure service levels are met.
- Provide internal insight and technical direction to support project success.
Technology Improvement & Modernization
- Participate in evaluating and implementing new systems and cloud solutions.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in system migrations, rollouts, and modernization initiatives.
- Support automation efforts to improve operational efficiency.
Education: Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Management or a combination of related education and experience.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, or similar advanced IT roles.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 and cloud-based platforms.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments and endpoint management.
- Experience working with MSPs or external technology partners preferred.
- Multi-site organization experience preferred.

- Familiarity with backup systems, disaster recovery, and security best practices.

Pay: $61,291.10 - $65,000.00 per year
