Database Administrator

DALY Computers is a system integrator, solution provider, value added reseller, and major service provider focused on serving the IT infrastructure needs of state local governments and education customers. Daly is seeking for a Database Administrator with programming experience to support and optimize our internal and customer facing applications and databases. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and technical skills, capable of managing and analyzing data, generating and developing reports, and supporting workflow improvements. Data administrator will help manage a variety of programs to include Daly’s customer portals, integration management system, service management system, ecommerce site, and various other databases. Responsibilities include database management, problem-solving using data and business requirements, and collaborating across teams to implement high-quality solutions.

The Database Administrator position is a full-time position and will report to the Director of Project Services and Accounting Manager. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan and more.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Problem solve using raw data, internal and customer requirements, programming algorithms, heuristics, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Manage databases for data accuracy and provide detailed activity logs and reports.
  • Manipulate data to provide customer reports for end users along with
  • Analyze user needs and develop reports and workflow related solutions. Collaborate on multiple levels to ensure proper integration.
  • Develop testing strategies when necessary.
  • Proactively research necessary tools and processes to improve functionality.
  • Participate as a member of project team of other management personnel, project stakeholders, programmers, and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong Excel background along with Office Suite of applications. Adept in working with tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes and jobs.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-tenant database design and implementation.
  • Understanding of workflow and process requirements of business units related to applications.
  • Self-motivated and able to stay on task without supervision. Able to multi-task effectively and to navigate ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical positions at all organizational levels.
  • Able to form both long- and short-term goals and estimate the time and resources required to achieve them.
  • Able to creatively solve a wide variety of business-related programming problems and challenges
  • Able to think through a problem from the user’s point of view to create an exceptional user experience.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in business administration.
  • Databases: SQL Server, MySQL, Microsoft Access
  • Technologies: Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Service Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Working knowledge of: JavaScript, C#, VB/.Net and ASP/.Net

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
