Job description

Mawson Infrastructure Group is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our fast-paced Information Systems & Technology team. The role will include a mix of contributing to new product development and building and improving upon existing systems.

Reporting to the Head of Information Systems, the Software Developer will be responsible for building new functional systems, strengthening existing deployments, and creating automations that improve data analysis, network operations, and software development projects using industry best practices.

We're looking for someone who has high levels of technical creativity, a passion for engineering solutions for novel problems, and who can proactively identify new opportunities to build and deploy products to support business efficiency. You will need an investigative mind, a hacker’s spirit, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.


What will you own?


  • Take responsibility for developing, monitoring, and improving upon automation systems that directly impact business operations and processes
  • Actively contribute to software product innovation within an agile, cross-functional team
  • Protect business operations and data through secure and efficient workflows, testing, backups, and smart toolchain selection
  • Create design specifications and demonstrate solutions with detailed documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts
  • Build tools for monitoring Mawson’s infrastructure, and ensure critical components are monitored in the right ways
  • Constructively engage in open and active communication channels when problem solving and developing solutions, recommending changes in policies, procedures, and tooling


What you have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant or related field
  • 3+ years professional experience working in a software, automation, or backend engineering role
  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud development, preferably Azure
  • Required: fluency in Javascript and/or Typescript, React/NextJS, NodeJS, Python, SQL, and API integration
  • Preferred: familiarity with configuration management tools, container-based technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Experience with unit testing/test-driven development and version control (Git, Bitbucket)
  • A healthy relationship with Linux and the command line
  • Core understanding of best security and encryption practices
  • Working knowledge of change management, incident mitigation, and documentation processes
  • Familiarity with Atlassian, Microsoft, and application monitoring environments
  • Previous experience within a software development team, with the discretion and capacity to make decisions and implement changes autonomously where appropriate
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative, critical, and creative problem-solving mindset
  • An interest in the AI/HPC, digital assets, and cryptocurrency sectors

Compensation: Full-time, Salary-Exempt - $80,000 - $100,000 (DOE)
