The Quality & Harvest Receiving Manager at HH Dobbins plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of fruit, efficient storage operations, and collaboration with growers. Below is a detailed breakdown of the responsibilities and expectations for this position:
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality control practices for purchased packed products, fruit packed at HH Dobbins, and products ready for distribution.
- Ensure compliance with USDA grading guidelines and customer specifications.
- Apple Storage Receiving:
- Manage data entry, analysis of received fruit, and staging in controlled atmosphere and refrigerated rooms across multiple facilities.
- Technology Utilization:
- Use tools like Hectre to grade and analyze fruit quality.
- Maintain communication with software providers to enhance outcomes for future seasons.
- Collaboration with Grower Operations Manager:
- Assist with field testing, studies, and trials.
- Provide detailed reports on fruit pack-outs and condition after storage.
- Support planning and placement of stored apple bins by variety and condition.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards across all operations and assist with audit preparation
Continuing Education Expectations
- Apple Storage Classes:
- Attend courses on advanced apple storage techniques, including controlled atmosphere methods.
- Industry Updates:
- Stay informed about agricultural trends, trade policies, and market demands through workshops.
- Trade Shows:
- Participate in trade shows to network and learn about innovations in the industry.
- Field Studies:
- Engage in training focused on testing methods and strategies to improve crop yield and quality.
Travel Requirements
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Use of a personal vehicle is expected at the company’s direction, with reimbursement provided.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
