<Overview>
We are developing VAPR, a web-based software platform built to manage, analyze, and scale data-driven inspection and asset-management workflows. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building, maintaining, and scaling the VAPR application.

You will work hands-on with a modern PHP stack, large datasets, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technology Stack

• PHP / MySQL
• HTML / CSS / JavaScript / jQuery
• Yii (preferred), Laravel, Symfony, or similar PHP frameworks
• AWS (EC2, ELB, RDS)
• Git for version control
• Docker for local development
• Linux-based environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based web applications
• Work with large MySQL datasets, writing optimized queries and complex joins
• Implement and maintain backend services and APIs
• Develop and maintain front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery
• Collaborate on architecture, performance optimization, and scalability
• Use Git for source control, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution
• Work in Linux environments and utilize the command line for development and deployment
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and technical standards

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with PHP using a framework (Yii preferred; Laravel, Symfony, etc. acceptable)
• 4+ years of experience with HTML/CSS
• 2+ years of experience with JavaScript and jQuery
• Strong experience with MySQL, including large datasets, query optimization, and complex joins
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Comfortable working in Linux environments and using the command line
• Experience using Git, including branching strategies, merging, and resolving conflicts

Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Docker
• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, ELB, RDS)
• Yii 2 framework experience
• Experience with Node.js

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $93,403.67 - $112,486.14 per year
