Job Overview

Mitra Information Technology is seeking an energetic and strategic Business Development Director to help develop and grow our IT Asset Recycling (ITAR) and secondary market IT hardware business. This role will be responsible for expanding partnerships, increasing revenue, and building strong IT equipment buyback and resale pipelines.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven leader with hands-on experience sourcing, purchasing, and selling second-hand and refurbished IT equipment, including servers, networking equipment, storage hardware, laptops, and enterprise infrastructure. A strong understanding of data center hardware lifecycles, asset recovery, and circular economy models is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the business development team, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and accuracy

• Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities related to IT asset disposition (ITAD), IT asset recycling, and secondary market IT equipment

• Source, purchase, and grow pipelines for used and refurbished IT hardware, including servers, switches, routers, storage systems, laptops, desktops, and workstations

• Build and maintain relationships with data centers, enterprises, VARs, MSPs, OEM partners, cloud service providers, and colocation facilities

• Develop and scale IT equipment buyback, asset recovery, and data center decommissioning programs

• Collaborate with internal teams on hardware valuation, pricing, margin analysis, inventory planning, and logistics

• Stay current on market trends related to AI infrastructure, enterprise hardware refresh cycles, refurbished IT markets, and sustainability initiatives

• Monitor competitor activity, secondary market pricing trends, and regulatory requirements to proactively adjust business strategies

• Ensure alignment with data security, chain of custody, and environmental compliance standards

• Represent Mitra Information Technology at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities

Qualifications

• 10+ years of business development, sales, or procurement experience within IT asset recycling, ITAD, refurbished IT, or secondary market hardware

• Established network within data center, cloud, enterprise infrastructure, or IT equipment resale markets

• Strong knowledge of enterprise IT hardware, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and end-user devices (laptops/desktops)

• Experience with IT equipment purchasing, asset valuation, and secondary market pricing

• Familiarity with IT asset recovery value streams and end-of-life (EOL) hardware management

• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as R2v3 and/or e-Stewards

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Strong channel, vendor, and partner relationship management experience

• Ability to work onsite in Walnut, CA
