About Us:
MARQ Packaging is a locally owned manufacturing company operating across 5 physical buildings, supporting approximately 100 users and 70 desktop computers. We are seeking a skilled IT Manager / Systems Administrator to join our team and lead our IT infrastructure efforts. This role will provide hands-on management of servers, networking, and user support, with one direct report at the helpdesk level. Compensation:
$75,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on experience

Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts (4-day workweek)

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the company’s networking platform and server infrastructure across multiple sites
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, server, and system issues promptly
• Monitor network and server health and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Administer network security to prevent downtime or breaches
• Manage sensitive data backup and restoration processes
• Oversee budgeting, expenses, and vendor contracts related to IT, as needed
• Supervise and support one helpdesk team member
• Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders, providing excellent customer service and clear communication

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in systems administration, IT management, or related roles
• Experience working with Windows Servers, Active Directory, Office 365, VMware vSphere, SQL Server, and networking hardware (switches, routers, PRI phone systems)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and data protocols
• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail
• Leadership experience managing or mentoring junior staff preferred
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified, CompTIA Network+, Security+) preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working closely with users and management
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and work at heights using ladders or scissor lifts

Physical Environment:

• Work across five physical buildings with approximately 70 desktops and 100 users
• Hands-on role involving direct interaction with hardware, infrastructure, and users

Location:
This role is strictly on-site at our Yakima, WA facility. Reliable commute or relocation plans are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,003.66 - $90,326.98 per year
