Responsibilities
- Manage and administer various databases including MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring their stability, security, and high availability.
- Design efficient database structures and optimize performance through tuning and troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like SSIS to facilitate data integration across systems.
- Write advanced SQL queries, PL/SQL scripts, and shell scripts (Bash/Unix shell) to automate routine tasks and enhance system functionality.
- Conduct performance tuning activities to improve database responsiveness and resource utilization.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with development teams to support database design efforts that align with business needs while ensuring scalability and security.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of high availability solutions and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell) and general scripting for automation purposes.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning techniques to optimize database operations.
- Familiarity with ETL processes using SSIS or similar tools for data integration tasks.
- Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, indexing, and security best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively while maintaining system uptime. Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
