Hiring Immediately! 6 month 1099 contract with possibility for extension or FTE conversion! We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer for a small company client based out of lower Manhattan. Your primary role will be managing and maintaining virtual and Cloud server infrastructure (OCI/Azure), which includes developing and maintaining a consistent, flexible, and reliable environment. Your role will facilitate project delivery, agility, and operational efficiency and work with Development team. In addition to day-to-day operational support, you’ll handle new system delivery, change requests, proactive availability and performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and the resolution of system issues, including application deployments.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in deploying software, maintaining system infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operations within our development environment.

**Responsibilities:**

• Install, configure, patch, and manage Windows/Linux servers.
• Set up, configure, and oversee Apache web services
• Use third-party tools (SolarWinds/Splunk), automation, and shell scripts to monitor server and database performance, availability, and security.
• Execute successful backups for all systems and databases and perform recovery operations as needed.
• Ensure high availability of Windows/Linux systems, document disaster recovery plans, and conduct regular testing.
• Work closely with Developers to implement and support software solutions, customizations, and integrations
• Troubleshoot performance issues, system failures, and security incidents promptly.
• Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, and scripting for automation.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Configuration Management: Experience with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
