Job description
Providence Staffing is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to support our IT client in Tallahassee, FL. This is a strategic role requiring deep expertise in Snowflake architecture and data warehouse design. The ideal candidate will provide consulting services to support the creation and implementation of a robust, scalable, and secure enterprise Data Warehouse solution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Warehouse Architecture & Implementation
- Design and build a scalable, secure, and efficient Snowflake data warehouse.
- Develop data models and schemas tailored to technical and business requirements.
- Implement disaster recovery, backup, and cost optimization strategies.
- Apply performance tuning techniques including query optimization, clustering, and result caching.
2. ETL Platform Selection & Optimization
- Assist in evaluating and selecting a low/no-code ETL platform (e.g., Matillion, Talend, Informatica).
- Ensure ETL solutions maintain data consistency, quality, and integrity.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and batch migration strategies.
3. Analytics & Reporting Integration
- Collaborate with IT teams to configure virtual desktops in Azure for analytics tools (e.g., SPSS).
- Enable integration with advanced analytics platforms and connect Power BI with the Snowflake environment.
4. Data Integration & Documentation
- Integrate data from diverse sources including SQL Server, Oracle, and flat files.
- Work with cross-functional technical teams to align architecture with enterprise standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL/data integration issues and maintain comprehensive documentation (data dictionaries, flow diagrams, architecture blueprints).
5. Security, Compliance & Governance
- Implement robust security protocols including encryption, RBAC, MFA (Cisco Duo), and SSO (Azure Entra ID).
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as Florida Administrative Code 60GG-2, NIST, and IRS Publication 1075.
- Support incident detection through activity monitoring and define response strategies with IT security.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
- Liaise with business users, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Provide training, documentation, and support for long-term system maintenance.
- Deliver timely project updates to stakeholders and contribute to meeting project milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data warehouse design and implementation.
- 5+ years hands-on with Snowflake including setup, optimization, and environment management.
- 3+ years working with low/no-code ETL platforms.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, SQL, and data governance best practices.
- Proven track record in collaborative, cross-functional project environments.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication and documentation skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and documentation tools.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage competing priorities independently or in a team.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.

Pay: $142,000.00 per year
