Job Description

Build and optimize an enterprise on-premises Kubernetes infrastructure with strategic cloud integration. Immediate priority: Debug intermittent service communication failures in Istio + Flannel + kube-proxy environment. Leverage AI tools and MCP servers to enhance troubleshooting and operations.

Skills Required

Networking (Production Issue)

Istio service mesh: Deep troubleshooting, sidecar injection, mTLS, Envoy proxy debugging

Flannel CNI: VXLAN/host-gw, overlay network debugging, MTU configuration

kube-proxy: iptables/IPVS modes, service endpoint sync issues, conntrack debugging

CoreDNS: Performance tuning, query debugging, NodeLocal DNSCache

Tools: tcpdump, Wireshark, packet analysis, distributed tracing (Jaeger)

AI-Enhanced Operations with MCP

MCP Integration: Build and deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for infrastructure operations

Custom MCP Servers: Create MCP servers for Kubernetes API access, log querying, metrics retrieval, incident management

AI-Powered Troubleshooting: Connect Claude/LLMs to infrastructure via MCP for real-time diagnostics and remediation

Intelligent Automation: Build MCP-enabled AI agents for automated log analysis, anomaly detection, root cause analysis

Operational AI Assistants: Deploy MCP servers connecting AI to GitLab, Jira, Slack, PagerDuty for incident orchestration

Infrastructure Query Interface: Create MCP servers exposing Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes APIs to AI assistants

Self-Service Tools: Build AI-powered interfaces using MCP for team members to query infrastructure state
