Product Designer (UX/UI)

Bloom Digitals

Part-time

Remote

Job description

About the Role

We are building a digital learning platform that teaches STEM through sports. We are looking for a Product Designer – UX/UI who can think beyond individual screens and actively contribute to product decisions as a whole.

This role combines strong hands-on design execution with product thinking, decision-making, and clear communication. You will help shape user experiences that are intuitive, educational, and sport-accurate, while translating design ideas into structured, actionable work for a small, cross-functional team.

The platform serves teachers, students, and administrators, requiring clarity, pedagogical awareness, and attention to sport-specific accuracy.

This is a key role for the next stage of our product, where clarity, prioritization, ownership, and trade-off awareness matter as much as visual quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate on UX/UI solutions with a product-outcomes mindset, not isolated screens.
  • Create and refine user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI designs aligned with educational and sports goals.
  • Independently produce graphic design assets when needed (UI components, visuals, learning assets).
  • Evaluate and prioritize design work within real constraints (time, scope, resources).
  • Evaluate design decisions based on user impact, trade-offs, and product goals, rather than aesthetic preference alone.
  • Translate design proposals into clear, structured, and actionable tasks for development.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly to designers, developers, educators, and stakeholders in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure UX consistency across the platform.
  • Ensure the experience is intuitive for teachers, students, and administrators.
  • Participate in async feedback cycles and weekly coordination meetings.

Key Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer (UX/UI) working on digital products.
  • English proficiency: C1 or higher.
  • Proven ability to own design work end-to-end, from problem definition to execution.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles for digital products, ideally in e-learning or educational platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience thinking in terms of product outcomes and user impact, not just visual delivery.
  • Ability to prioritize and make design decisions under constraints.
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, or similar.
  • Comfortable producing both UX/UI work and hands-on visual / graphic design assets.
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions, trade-offs, and priorities to non-design stakeholders.

Work conditions

  • Part-time: 30 hours per week
  • Fully remote
  • Weekly coordination meetings + async collaboration

What We Offer

  • A meaningful role in a nonprofit making STEM education accessible through sports.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership over product decisions.
  • Direct impact on a growing national education platform.
  • Compensation aligned with experience and availability.
