Job description

Job Overview

My client is seeking a DevOps Engineer. The role is open as either a contract-to-hire or permanent position. We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our Azure-based CI/CD practices from foundational implementations to a next-generation pipeline ecosystem. Your responsibilities will span pipeline architecture, deployment automation, and platform maturity acceleration. You will primarily be working to transform our release capabilities, enabling development teams to ship frequently with confidence while maintaining system reliability and security.

What you will get to own!

  • Rebuild and mature our CI/CD pipeline infrastructure to enable frequent, safe production releases with automated quality gates
  • Design and implement advanced deployment strategies including blue-green deployments, canary releases, and feature flags
  • Architect comprehensive rollback mechanisms that minimize mean time to recovery
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Azure Bicep to ensure consistency across all environments
  • Build robust observability solutions with clear SLIs and SLOs that provide actionable insights
  • Integrate security scanning, vulnerability detection, and secrets management throughout the CI/CD pipeline
  • Create self-service tooling and documentation that empowers developers to deploy safely and independently
  • Evaluate and integrate best-of-breed tools that complement Azure DevOps where platform gaps exist

What you will collaborate on!

  • CI/CD maturity assessment and transformation roadmap with engineering leadership
  • Platform engineering initiatives that improve developer experience and deployment velocity
  • Site reliability engineering practices including incident response and reliability improvements
  • Security and compliance integration with automated guardrails
  • GitOps workflows enabling traceability and auditability
  • AI-driven development and deployment experiments exploring automated testing and self-healing systems

What Sets You Apart:

  • You've successfully executed a CI/CD maturity transformation taking systems to next-generation excellence
  • You understand when to augment Azure DevOps with specialized tools versus working within the platform
  • You balance speed with safety and demonstrate this with meaningful metrics
  • You treat infrastructure as a product and obsess over developer experience
  • You have implemented or experimented with AI-driven deployment automation or intelligent system reliability

Who you are:

  • Self-starter who takes ownership of complex problems and drives them to completion
  • Passionate about DevOps culture, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Strong communicator who translates technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Enthusiastic learner who shares knowledge through documentation and mentoring
  • Always looking for a better way—you challenge existing processes and push boundaries
  • Collaborative team player who builds consensus across engineering, security, and product teams
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and excited to define the path forward
