PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
We are in the process of extending our IT Infrastructure capabilities to the AWS Cloud. If you are an agile learner, have hands-on experience architecting and implementing secure, reliable & resilient hybrid-cloud solutions and able to function as part of a highly technical, cross functional team, we would like to hear from you.
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our Team. Centuria is partnered with KBR, who is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner that is looking for an experienced and motivated Cloud support engineer that enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and has a strong technical background. As an AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering new AWS projects for our customers as well as day-to-day sustainment engineering. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This person will be integrated into a development team to build new cloud architecture designs, resulting in robust, reliable, and secure cloud platform solutions. They will play an integral part in advancing the Cloud eco-system and culture of technical excellence. As part of the team, you will be expected to assist with cloud architecture and implementation efforts, interface with customers, and solve problems for running current and proposed processes on cloud infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, develop, and implement cost effective AWS Cloud solutions
  • Participate in delivery of new service offerings, working closely with development team to deliver low latency, high performance, and cost-effective solutions
  • Assist in the creation of blueprints for future Cloud topologies (AWS services and interfaces) that minimize costs while maximizing performance, reliability, and manageability
  • Use tools to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Interpret and provide solutions on complex technologies/architectures
  • Create automated approaches and scripts for administration tasks where possible and appropriate
  • Develop, support, and document automated build and configuration management processes
  • Guide and participate in the implementation and coding of the new solutions
  • Train and mentor junior engineers
  • Deploy, configure, and manage scaled compute resources, services, platforms, frameworks, and applications in the cloud
  • Manage cloud account onboarding using AWS Organizations and AWS Control tower
  • Implement AWS Guardrails, Service Control Policies, and AWS Config rules
  • Apply uniform governance across all accounts and applications
  • Integrating AWS Outposts in edge locations as part of Cloud Solutions

Job Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience as a Cloud Software Engineer, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, or equivalent cloud experience
  • 5+ years of DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and automation
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and administering AWS services including EC2, Lambda, ELB, Kubernetes/EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation, Organizations, Control Tower, etc.
  • 3+ years in a customer facing role
  • Strong understanding of AWS Security and Network controls
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or other IaC tool
  • Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other configuration management tool
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages like Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell
  • General understanding of compliance around FedRAMP (moderate and high)
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Proven ability to work across teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong aptitude to learn and passion for problem solving
