IT Manager | Remote
Position Summary
The IT Manager oversees all technology operations for Independence Dental Services (IDS) and its partner practices, combining hands-on technical support with strategic planning to ensure secure, efficient, and integrated systems. This role is responsible for leading IT initiatives, standardizing technology across the organization, managing vendor relationships, and supporting practice-level and corporate IT needs. The IT Manager will guide system strategy, oversee infrastructure improvements, and serve as the primary point of contact for IT matters, while also performing day-to-day technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement the IT roadmap, aligning technology priorities with corporate and practice-level goals.
- Establish organization-wide IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Provide strategic guidance on technology selection, upgrades, integrations, and security.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify technology opportunities that drive efficiency, growth, and profitability.
IT Operations & Support
- Oversee and perform daily IT support for corporate teams and partner practices, including hardware, software, network, and remote connection troubleshooting.
- Manage new hire IT onboarding, including hardware procurement, account setup, and system access.
- Maintain and update the Partner Portal and corporate digital resources.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues, escalating to vendors or contractors when needed.
Systems Integration & Development
- Lead and support system integrations between practice management systems (e.g., DMPS) and corporate tools.
- Lead and support system integrations between payroll system and third party connections (i.e. 401(k) 360 integrations, 180 integrations, employee engagement vendor, etc.)
- Oversee data migrations during acquisitions, system conversions, and software updates.
- Moderate application development or scripting to improve workflows, reporting, and automation across tools, to include the IDS datalake.
Security & Compliance
- Design and maintain security protocols in compliance with HIPAA, PCI, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct security assessments and oversee vulnerability management processes.
- Manage access controls and ensure timely deactivation of accounts for offboarded employees.
Vendor & Project Management
- Serve as the primary liaison with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants; negotiate contracts and rates.
- Manage IT projects from planning through execution, including timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset inventories, and training resources.
Standardization & Optimization
- Establish and enforce standardized corporate system configurations across all locations.
- Continuously review and optimize technology processes for efficiency and cost savings.
- Train corporate and practice-level users on technology best practices.
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Experience managing cloud-based infrastructure and mobile device management.
- Strong proficiency in Windows environments, Microsoft 365 administration, networking, and remote access tools.
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration, APIs, and light to moderate development or scripting.
- Proven ability to manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and multi-site technology environments.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI).
Qualifications Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a multi-site healthcare or Dental Service Organization environment.
- Familiarity with dental or medical practice management systems (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, EagleSoft).
- Formal training or certification in IT project management or cybersecurity.

Work Environment & Travel:
- Full-time remote with travel as needed to practice locations.
