We are currently seeking an IT Administrator to join the IT team. As our IT Administrator, you will play a key role in
maintaining, supporting, and optimizing information technology systems that enable continuous clinical laboratory operations, remote draw station connectivity, and facility-level IT infrastructure. This role ensures system availability, secure data flow, regulatory compliance, and seamless technology support across laboratory sites, phlebotomy draw stations, and office facilities. This position plays a mission-critical role in supporting laboratory testing operations, clinical data integrity, remote collection site readiness, and business continuity.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
IT and Facilities Support for the Main Laboratory, Draw Stations & Remote Site
- Set up and maintain IT equipment at phlebotomy draw stations and remote collection sites; Configure secure network connectivity for remote sites
- Provide on-site and remote technical support (tier 1 and 2) to employees at the main laboratory and draw stations across Southern California.
- Diagnose and resolve both routine and complex hardware, software, and network issues through self-troubleshooting
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to escalate, track, and resolve technical issues as needed
- Configure, deploy, and support workstations, servers, IP phones, point-of-sale systems, label systems, barcode scanners, and tablets, and printers
- Manage and maintain physical access control systems for secure building access
- Perform employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning and deprovisioning in Active Directory and Azure AD
- Coordinate with landlords, contractors, and service providers for facility IT needs
- Oversee cabling, network access points, Wi-Fi coverage, and device deployment
- Maintain inventory of IT assets across all locations, and track IT assets, licenses, and renewals
Network Administrator / IT Infrastructure & Systems / Security & Compliance
- Oversee, maintain, and optimize the organization’s IT and network infrastructure
- Ensure day-to-day availability of laboratory and office IT systems
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices to strengthen the overall security posture
- Ensure data backups are properly configured, monitored, and up to date
- Administer and support domain controllers, file servers, LIS servers, application servers, and related systems
- Monitor and review security logs from firewalls and physical access control systems
- Apply patches and updates to critical servers, firewalls, and network devices
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant access controls and security policies and support CLIA and internal audit readiness for IT-related controls
- Continuously evaluate and improve cybersecurity controls and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT Administration.
LIS (Laboratory Information System - LABDAQ) / EMR (Electronic Medical Record) System Integration
- Design, implement, and maintain order, result, and bidirectional HL7 interfaces with various EMR systems
- Utilize in-house and third-party middleware solutions to support system integrations (e.g., Mirth Connect)
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of HL7, JSON, SFTP, TCP/IP, and APIs
- Collaborate with middleware vendors (e.g., Ellkay) to troubleshoot and optimize integrations
- Work closely with third-party vendors and internal development teams to ensure seamless data exchange between systems
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of IT systems or network administration experience
- Proven experience in IT support, network administration, system administration, and integration projects
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments, Active Directory, and networking
- Experience with server and basic cloud administration
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment
- Hands-on experience supporting multi-site or remote office IT environments
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and systems
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Must be able to work on-site in our Gardena laboratory/office and travel to draw stations across LA County and Orange County
LICENSE & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- CompTIA A+ (Required)
- CompTIA Network+ (Required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in healthcare IT or medical/clinical laboratory industry
- Experience supporting remote collection sites or distributed workforces
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and FDA regulations affecting healthcare technology
- Strong foundational knowledge of information technology
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, SFTP, DNS, and VPN
- Security-minded with effective communication skills
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and healthcare data standards
- Understanding of PCI DSS compliance requirements
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles for healthcare applications
- Cisco CCNA (Preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ (Preferred)
- Certifications in relevant technologies or healthcare IT

Open Healthcare US offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The reasonable estimated salary for this role ranges from [$75,000 to 90,000/year]. Actual compensation is based upon factors such as the candidate's education, skills, qualifications, and related work experience.
