Overview

Coleman Environmental Engineering is seeking a highly capable IT Support & Systems Specialist to own and manage our internal technology environment.

This role goes beyond basic help desk support. You will configure and deploy laptops, iPhones, and iPads; manage Apple Business Manager and Hexnode MDM (transitioning to Microsoft Intune); support Microsoft 365 and SharePoint architecture; and act as the first line of defense for cybersecurity events.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-User Support & Device Management

  • Configure and deploy Windows 11 Pro laptops (OOBE setup)
  • Configure iPhones and iPads using Apple Business Manager and Hexnode MDM
  • Manage device enrollment, redeployment, wipes, and tracking
  • Maintain SIM card inventory and carrier coordination
  • Provide hardware/software troubleshooting for Windows and macOS
  • Manage Microsoft 365 user accounts, authentication, and licensing
  • Restore former employee email access and manage account transitions
  • Provide help desk support and track requests through ticketing systems (Jira or similar)

Mobile Device Management (MDM)

  • Build and maintain policies by group, region, or job role
  • Manage lockdowns, lost/stolen devices, and remote wipes
  • Whitelist/blacklist applications, services, and websites
  • Exchange tokens between Apple Business Manager, Microsoft, and Hexnode
  • Physically enroll devices when outside Device Enrollment Program
  • Prepare transition planning from Hexnode to Microsoft Intune

Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Administration

  • Build and maintain SharePoint environments (sites, libraries, permissions)
  • Develop internal digital tools (Finance portals, distribution systems, custom forms)
  • Manage metadata, sensitivity labels, conditional access, and file governance
  • Restore document versions and control document lifecycle
  • Query and recover lost files
  • Manage granular access to confidential and PII-protected information

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Monitor and review cybersecurity risk events
  • Check quarantine for high-risk email attempts
  • Investigate phishing and impersonation attempts
  • Act as designated Cybersecurity Incident Response Manager
  • Liaise with third-party SOC providers for Class 2+ risk events
  • Conduct penetration testing coordination
  • Review and harden digital architecture
  • Manage SentinelOne endpoint security

Infrastructure & Digital Architecture

  • Support LAN, firewall, and VPN configurations
  • Maintain Single Sign-On integrations (HRIS and other systems)
  • Manage database environments for in-house and third-party software
  • Support Microsoft Office, Adobe, Apple ecosystems
  • Collaborate with vendors (Opus Interactive, mobile carriers, SOC providers)
  • Attend meetings with PG&E regarding mobile app support and issue resolution
  • Provide recommendations regarding system errors and improvements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or similar role
  • Experience with:
  • Apple Business Manager
  • MDM platforms (Hexnode, Intune preferred)
  • Microsoft 365 & SharePoint administration
  • Windows 11 Pro environments
  • LAN, firewall, and VPN configuration
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience with endpoint protection platforms (SentinelOne preferred)
  • Ability to manage both tactical support issues and strategic infrastructure improvements
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning systems end-to-end

Preferred Experience

  • Building in-house MDM environments
  • SharePoint DevOps / workflow automation
  • Digital architecture planning
  • Working with external SOC providers
  • Supporting regulated or high-compliance environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
