Job description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior System Administrator to join our growing team. This role involvessupport for our managed services clients, covering server, network, and desktop infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, client-focused, and capable of managing multiple environments with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, maintain, and support network, server, and workstation infrastructures, ensuring optimal uptime and performance.
- Provide comprehensive desktop and application support, including:
- New user setup
- Line-of-business (LOB) applications
- Hosted environments
- General troubleshooting
- Install, configure, and support network hardware and services including LAN/WAN, routers, firewalls, switches, and other security appliances.
- Deliver advanced support for Microsoft environments, including:
- Windows Server & Desktop OS
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
- Active Directory / Azure AD
- Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Administer and support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, including provisioning, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with internal team members and client stakeholders to provide strategic IT guidance, perform system evaluations, and recommend infrastructure improvements.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware/software support, upgrades, and escalated issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including client-specific configurations, procedures, and SOPs.
- Record all work performed — including time, notes, and expenses — in ConnectWise Manage or equivalent PSA platform.
Requirements (Must-Have):
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, preferably in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or multi-client environment.
- Strong Experience in Windows Server & Desktop OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Azure AD
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for travel to client sites.
Preferred Experience (Highly Valued):
Experience with the following tools and platforms is strongly preferred:
- Networking & Security: Cisco, Meraki, WatchGuard, SonicWall
- Antivirus & Security: Bitdefender or equivalent enterprise-grade solution
- Email Security: Barracuda Cloud or similar spam filtering solutions
- Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, or similar hypervisors
- Backup & Recovery: Veeam or equivalent enterprise backup solutions
- RMM & PSA Tools:
- ConnectWise Manage (ticketing/PSA) or similar platforms
- ConnectWise Automate (RMM) or similar platforms
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
