Position Overview

We are seeking a Lab Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a complex lab environment within the Engineering & Technology Division. This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing lab infrastructure systems including networking, servers, virtualization platforms, and domain environments. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and experienced in both Windows and Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and support lab infrastructure including firewalls, switches, hosting servers, Windows and Linux virtual machines, and Windows domain environments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for configurations, processes, and system changes
• Perform routine system maintenance, patching, and infrastructure updates
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot stability issues
• Recommend and implement infrastructure and process improvements
• Conduct infrastructure testing and monitoring to ensure reliability and performance
• Collaborate within small technical teams as part of a larger engineering organization to deliver high-quality solutions

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen or valid Green Card holder
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of relevant infrastructure or systems engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with:
• Windows Server
• Linux systems
• Cisco and Juniper networking equipment
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD environments and automation tools
• Familiarity with Markdown, Git, and Mermaid
• Experience with virtualization platforms (vSphere, Hyper-V)
• Knowledge of Windows clustering and SSH servers
• Experience administering Windows domains, including:
• Group Policy management
• User and account administration
• WSUS patch management
• Strong interest in automation to streamline routine processes and documentation

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $57.00 per hour
