We are currently hiring for a PT Lab Assistant in Waukegan, IL.

What will you do as a PT Lab Assistant?

• Set up the laboratories for phlebotomy.
• Restock supply cabinets and dispensaries for the phlebotomy laboratory.
• Organize student files.
• Assist with lab setup/breakdown for teaching purposes.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies that need to be ordered.
• Maintain a clean environment in the laboratory and light equipment maintenance.
• This role will not involve performing venipuncture, handling needles, or coming into direct contact with blood specimens or other biohazards.
• Standard PPE (gloves, lab coat, etc.) may occasionally be used when assisting with non-biohazard classroom prep.

Who qualifies for the PT Lab Assistant position?

• High School diploma, or equivalent required
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly and climb a step stool occasionally
• Work experience in a medical office, laboratory setting, or academic healthcare program, preferred
• Familiarity with basic phlebotomy supplies (vacutainers, tourniquets, lancets) is preferred
• Familiarity with safety procedures for the handling of biohazardous materials
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred
• Ability to pass a background check required

What hours will the PT Lab Assistant work?

• 12-15 hours/week, Monday through Thursday, most likely mornings
• 10-week temporary position, subject to change

How much will you earn as a PT Lab Assistant?

• Starting pay is $16.65/hr.
