Job description

Position Summary

This position serves as a senior level analyst responsible for supporting the LSU Health PeopleSoft Financial Management and Supply Chain Management ERP system. Critical responsibilities of the position include technical support, problem debugging and analysis, correction of system bugs and defects, implementation of modifications and system enhancements and the development of/creation of system reports. The position works independently as well as with the team for the discovery, planning and design phases as well as the implementation process. This position works closely with end-users, support staff and other IT teams as well as with senior administrative stakeholders. The employee provides life cycle management in the form of applying application updates and conducting major upgrades. The employee provides end user support and acts as a subject matter expert in at least three functional modules of the application. The employee is responsible for attending meetings as a representative of the team in departmental meetings and working independently in coordination with other teams when needed. The employee mentors and directs junior analysts through direct mentoring, collaborative project design sessions and through scheduled training activities This position is eligible for remote work in accordance with CM-73 - Remote Work Policy. This position will be hired at an IT Analyst level 3 or 4 based upon the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to determine project specifications, design projects, solutions and interfaces, building & debugging those designs with stakeholders, developers, and IT staff for project design and planning
  • Independently intake and manage help tickets and support requests. Analyzes, detects, and corrects technical problems. Write SQL scripts using Microsoft Transact-SQL and work with the users to ensure correct testing, approval and implementation of ticket resolutions.
  • Work on all phases of planning, testing, design, and implementation for major software version upgrades, patches, new feature implementations and software updates.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to junior analysts including training, creation of documentation/knowledge base articles, and best practice guides
  • Act as a knowledge resource and technical expert for the PS Financials Support team providing expertise, guidance, documentation and planning tools to further project design, management and implementation objectives.

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Software Engineering or related curriculum from an accredited four-year college or university

Education Substitution

  • An additional two years of relevant full-time professional experience as a developer may be substituted for the degree disciplines. A bachelor's degree is required but may be in any field.

Required Experience

As an IT Analyst 3

  • Five years’ experience as a professional PeopleSoft developer
  • Three years’ functional or developer experience with Financials ERP systems. Financials developer experience may overlap with required PeopleSoft developer experience

As an IT Analyst 4

  • Ten years’ experience
