Responsibilities:

• Overseeing UX/UI designs to ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices
• Translating research into user stories, requirements, flows, wireframes, and prototypes and collaborating on the future product roadmap
• Employing user testing and outreach to ensure products meet the needs of the end users, in collaboration with partners
• Partnering with the product team and other key stakeholders, including senior leadership, on design solutions and rationales; collaborating with internal and external teams of product designers, developers, and product managers

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 8 years of experience in software product development, digital design, UX/UI, or a related field
• 8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
• 8 years of a portfolio of user research, visual design, and usability studies that demonstrates a high level of professionalism
• 8 years of experience conducting user and usability research
• 5 years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
• 5 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
• 4 years of direct experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts
• 4 years of documented experience developing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma or comparable design software
• 3 years of experience ensuring designs and websites conform to federal accessibility guidelines
• 3 years of documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira" (preferred)
• 2 years of documented experience working for or closely with a state or local education agency (preferred)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
