We’re actively seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer in our Software department that will ultimately contribute to our mission of working with our family of customers to provide the very best products and support while creating a successful long-term partnership. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure; you’ll work closely with developers and service teams to manage our infrastructure, support application rollouts, and build robust systems across multiple AWS regions.
This full-time position is based at Amtelco’s corporate headquarters in McFarland, WI and reports to one of our Senior Software Engineers along with our VP of Software Development. Determined by your director, the benefit of a hybrid workplace model occurs at different times for each employee based on job performance.
How will I make an impact?
- Ensure Site Reliability – monitor and maintain high system uptime across all environments
- Infrastructure & Monitoring Management – design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure and monitoring systems using modern tools
- Plan, Develop, & Roll Out Infrastructure – architect and deploy new infrastructure solutions in alignment with business and engineering needs
- Collaborate with Developers – work hand-in-hand with developers and services to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and improve deployment pipelines
- Manage Upgrades – oversee & automate upgrades of both infrastructure and applications to ensure minimal downtime and smooth transitions
- Multi-Region Deployment – build, maintain, and improve multi-region deployment setups with built-in failover and disaster recovery capabilities
- Utilize the following Tech Stack:
- -- CI/CD: GitHub Actions
- -- Cloud: AWS (ECS, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, EC2, S3, RDS)
- -- Containers: Docker
- -- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- -- Monitoring & Alerting: Prometheus, Grafana
What does success look like in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate degree required – with an emphasis in software engineering and development
- 5-7 years of proven work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in a production environment required
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Hands-on experience with multi-region architectures and failover strategies
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
- Deep familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
- Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions or similar tools
- Experience implementing and managing observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience with security best practices in DevOps environments
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL (RDS) performance tuning and maintenance
- Previous work in environments with strict uptime and compliance requirements preferred
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year, DOE
