About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing data infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in both relational and document-based database systems, particularly Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB.

As a key contributor to our team, you will help lead efforts to design, build, and optimize data systems that deliver high availability, scalability, and performance. You’ll collaborate closely with application developers and internal teams to develop robust data solutions that integrate seamlessly into our broader technology stack. In addition to troubleshooting and performance tuning, your work will directly influence the development of a reliable and efficient data infrastructure that supports the company's needs.

This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for helping others succeed through reliable and well-architected data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, staging, and production environments.
• Design, maintain, and enhance document-based databases such as MongoDB, with a focus on data modeling, indexing strategies, and query performance.
• Work closely with development, data integration, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of data-driven applications.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, including troubleshooting database issues, answering queries, and assisting with data access and reporting needs.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource management.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and access control policies are enforced.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to database architecture, processes, and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Established expertise working with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 and newer), including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Comprehensive experience designing and optimizing document-based databases like MongoDB, with a focus on schema design, indexing, and query performance.
• Deep expertise in performance tuning across both relational and document-oriented systems, including query optimization, execution plan analysis, and resource utilization.
• Advanced knowledge of data architecture principles for both structured and semi-structured data.
• Advanced knowledge of ETL tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation, data transformation, and efficient data access and querying across diverse data sources.
• Proficient understanding of database security best practices, along with experience in configuring replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices and infrastructure automation using infrastructure as code principles.
• Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, agile environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
