UNIX system administrator that can not only load and configure an OS but can also support the apps the development teams are throwing on your servers.

Experience:

Government labor category rules are required for this position. Junior level is 0-5 years. Midlevel is 6-10 years. Senior level is 10-15 years.

What We Are Looking For:

• Server management – Monitor/Tune performance, cron jobs, hardware fault troubleshooting, backups
• Software/application management – Installing, Testing and Patching
• Account management – Adding/Removing user accounts and controlling privileges
• Security management – Host-based firewalls, file permissions, important security configurations
• User Management – You can’t kill a user no matter how stupid you make think they are
• Strong UNIX scripting skills. If/for/while, $?, 2>&1, /dev/null
• Guru with grep, awk, sed, wc, vi, tar
• Networking – iptables, ssh, scp, ifconfig, rsync, NFS, NIS, Samba
• Other – syslog, sudo, systemd/init, df, fsck, /etc/hosts, /etc/passwd, ps and /proc
