Job description
Job Purpose/Narrative:
Gerhardi Inc. is transitioning toward full operational independence from its parent company in Germany. The IT Manager will play a critical role in this transformation by leading the setup and stabilization of IT infrastructure, ERP, MES, and EDI systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role ensures that the plant has reliable and secure IT capabilities to support production, finance, HR, logistics, and quality functions. The role is hands-on, requiring both strategic planning and direct troubleshooting to maintain smooth operations while building long-term digital capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure & Systems
- Lead the transition from Germany-dependent IT systems to fully independent local solutions.
- Manage ERP implementation (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and MES rollout.
- Oversee IT hardware, servers, cloud solutions, network security, and user access.
- Ensure reliable EDI connections with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Manage relationships with external Managed Service Providers (MSP) and vendors.
Operations Support
- Ensure business continuity of IT systems to support production, finance, HR, logistics, and quality.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and user support for plant operations.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, data protection, and cybersecurity standards.
Project & Change Management
- Drive IT-related projects across departments, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
- Train and support employees in new IT systems, processes, and tools.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, Engineering, and Operations teams to align IT strategy with business needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of IT management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Dynamics preferred), MES, and EDI.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity.
- Hands-on approach with willingness to work closely on day-to-day plant IT needs.
- Excellent project management and vendor management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or similar Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier environments.
- Ability to balance short-term stabilization with long-term IT roadmap execution.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and training skills.
- Comfort working in a lean organization without large IT teams.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
