Clinical Systems Administrator Position Overview:
The Clinical Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of the Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) platform and related clinical applications. This role ensures seamless onboarding for new practices, efficient system integrations, and reliable technical support for providers and staff. The Administrator will serve as the key liaison between clinical operations, IT, and vendor partners to optimize workflows and maintain system integrity.
Clinical Systems Administrator Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience supporting EMR/EHR systems (ModMed experience strongly preferred).
- Hands-on experience with system configuration, user account management, and clinical workflow support.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare IT integrations (labs, scheduling, billing, patient engagement tools).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train end users and create documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple implementations and ongoing support tasks.
Clinical Systems Administrator Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Implementation Support
- Create and configure new user accounts (providers and staff) in ModMed, Communities, and athenaPractice (when applicable).
- Plan and deliver “Lunch and Learn” training sessions for new clinics.
- Validate and map data conversions.
- Complete configuration tasks for new acquisitions, including:
- User location alignment and staff group setup.
- Call button and room number configuration.
- Assign user permissions and kiosk setup.
- Activate Direct Mail and track secure email addresses.
- Collaborate with key implementation stakeholders to gather and configure required information.
Ongoing Support
- Manage new user setup, password resets, and timely access changes (activations/terminations).
- Oversee user permissions, location alignment, and access to business units.
- Support integrations (e.g., ZocDoc, Relatient, LabCorp, Quest, Patient Self Scheduling).
- Maintain clinical forms, waivers, and PDF documents.
- Develop tutorials and workflow documentation for staff.
- Support new physician onboarding (EPCS, Nuance, reminders, scheduling setup).
- Manage open tickets and coordinate escalations with ModMed.
- Coordinate with PEAKE for ModMed iPad application updates.
- Maintain secure Direct Mail email address lists.
- Perform routine system maintenance and clean-up.
Other Responsibilities
- Manage requests for new iPad applications.
- Maintain system architecture and integration diagrams.
- Submit and track support tickets in legacy systems (InstaMed, athenaPractice, etc.).
