Title: Cloud Security Risk Analyst

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Cloud Security Risk Analyst for a REMOTE opportunity. (Hybrid preferred in Columbia, SC but will consider remote for the right candidate!) Candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding cloud-based infrastructure by applying industry-standard frameworks, leveraging cloud security tools, and working collaboratively across teams to ensure secure and compliant system configurations.
This role is technical in nature and not intended for candidates with general IT support or help desk backgrounds.

Required Qualifications of the Cloud Security Risk Analyst:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR 4 years of directly related work experience in lieu of a degree, OR 2 years of relevant work experience plus an Associate’s degree in a related field
  • 6 years of I/T experience including 4 years of IT security, risk assessment and/or compliance experience
  • Agile experience in a cloud or enterprise environment
  • Experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Proficiency in Splunk or similar SIEM tools
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security tools in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP frameworks and their application in real-world systems

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience directly implementing FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 controls
  • Understanding of CMS security requirements and working in a federal compliance environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Blueprints, GitHub Actions, or other DevSecOps toolchains

Responsibilities of the Cloud Security Risk Analyst:

  • Monitor and investigate security events using Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or other SIEM tools.
  • Analyze logs and alerts to detect potential threats, escalate issues, and coordinate remediation efforts.
  • Administer and review cloud configurations in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Manage Azure Active Directory (AAD) roles and enforce security policies via Azure Policy and Security Center.
  • Audit, update, and enforce IAM policies to ensure least-privilege access across environments.
  • Regularly assess access controls and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Evaluate cloud infrastructure for alignment with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP frameworks.
  • Conduct independent cloud security audits, document findings, and propose risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with cloud engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security controls into deployments.
  • Support audits and generate documentation to demonstrate compliance with CMS and federal security standards.

Work Location: Hybrid onsite 3 days a week in Columbia, SC preferred (Tuesday – Thursday) preferred, but will consider REMOTE for the right candidate
