Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven and highly organized Digital Marketing Specialist to lead and coordinate all aspects of our digital marketing efforts across multiple brands in the Hawaii tourism industry. This role serves as a key liaison between internal teams, contractors, and marketing agencies to develop and execute cohesive digital strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and direct bookings.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with a wide range of digital tools and platforms, is data-driven, and excels at both strategic planning and day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Strategy & Coordination
- Act as the main point of contact between the company and digital vendors/agencies.
- Develop, implement, and optimize multi-channel digital strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead planning and execution of seasonal and promotional digital campaigns.
- Website, Social Media & Email Campaign Management
- Oversee and maintain all websites, ensuring mobile responsiveness, speed, SEO optimization, and content accuracy, including grammar, spelling, prices, dates and other pertinent information.
- Comfortable with WordPress to update graphics and website content, including time-sensitive promotions and blog posts.
- Manage and schedule content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Coordinate with designers, copywriters, and influencers as needed.
- Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Manage and interpret data using Google Analytics, GMB, and Google Tag Manager.
- Lead A/B testing, landing page performance tracking, and conversion rate optimization.
- Create regular reports and provide actionable insights based on performance data.
- Paid Media & SEO Oversight
- Coordinate PPC, display, and retargeting campaigns (Google Ads, Meta, etc.).
- Monitor SEO efforts and liaise with SEO vendors/agencies to ensure best practices are in place.
- Stay current with trends and algorithm updates to inform digital efforts.
- Budgeting & Vendor Management
- Negotiate and manage agency contracts, scopes of work, and timelines.
- Track spend and ROI across digital initiatives, ensuring cost-effective marketing investments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a digital marketing role, preferably in tourism, hospitality, or travel.
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Google Analytics (GA4)
- Google Ads & Retargeting
- Google Tag Manager (GTM)
- Google My Business (GMB)
- SEO & PPC best practices
- Social Media platforms & paid ads
- Email/SMS marketing
- Basic understanding of:
- WordPress
- HTML/CSS
- UX/UI best practices
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Highly analytical with the ability to interpret complex data sets into actionable strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stay up to date with the latest digital marketing tools and technologies, and recommend solutions to improve digital performance, enhance brand visibility and generate revenue.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in A/B testing tools (e.g., Google Optimize, VWO)
- Familiarity with booking platforms and tourism-related APIs
- Working knowledge of SEMrush, Mouseflow, Rank Math, Link Whisper, Ninja Forms, WP Rocket, or similar applications
- Bilingual in Japanese is a plus!
