Vista Innovative Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to support the sustainment and performance optimization of the Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS)—a mission-critical U.S. Army logistics platform. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing enterprise-grade databases with an emphasis on security, performance tuning, and data integrity.
What You'll Do:
- Administer, optimize, and maintain SAAS enterprise database systems, ensuring performance, integrity, availability, and scalability.
- Implement and manage complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions for performance and reliability.
- Monitor and analyze database performance; conduct tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Recommend and implement changes to SAAS data model/schema in collaboration with development teams.
- Support software release activities through database configuration and migration support.
- Maintain relational integrity, concurrency controls, and system logs; oversee log clean-ups and page file management.
- Conduct regular database audits, vulnerability scans, and implement patches aligned with IAVA and cybersecurity standards.
- Ensure compliance with RMF, STIGs, and DoD IA policies; assist with database documentation for authorization packages.
- Manage database backups, disaster recovery planning, and security patch installations.
- Track and report system status, changes, and issues in ServiceNow and other designated tools.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in database administration of large-scale enterprise systems.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, or similar relational database systems.
- Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and RMF compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage and document changes in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience with SAAS, DoD systems, or other military logistics platforms.
- Knowledge of automated and manual testing processes for database validation.
- Experience supporting database components in DevSecOps pipelines.
- Knowledge of Agile SAFe methodology and tools like Jira and Git.
