Seeking a Database Administrator in Arizona!
The Database Administrator will work closely with IT, business teams, and operational users to support SQL databases, TruckMate and related transportation systems, reporting tools, and analytics platforms. A strong focus is placed on troubleshooting, performance optimization, documentation, and enabling better decision-making through reporting and data insights. This role is a hands-on, support-oriented Database Administrator position focused on maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the organization’s SQL databases and data platforms. The position emphasizes operational reliability, reporting, and data accessibility rather than people leadership.
1. Database Support & Troubleshooting
Provide day-to-day operational support for SQL databases, including troubleshooting issues, resolving performance problems, and supporting internal users and systems.
2. Reporting & Data Analytics Support
Support reporting needs across the organization, including TruckMate reporting, Power BI dashboards, Crystal Reports, and ad-hoc data requests. Assist users in accessing and understanding data.
3. Database Maintenance & Optimization
Maintain database health through backups, monitoring, tuning, indexing, and maintenance tasks. Implement improvements to increase reliability and performance.
4. Documentation & Process Improvement
Document SQL queries, stored procedures, reports, data sources, and support processes. Identify opportunities to improve data workflows and reporting efficiency.
5. Collaboration & Special Projects
Collaborate with IT peers and business stakeholders on data-related projects and other assigned initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience in related field

Experience with reporting, Power BI, and data analytics is considered a strong plus.
- Proven work experience as a SQL Database Administrator, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Expertise in management of SQL database systems (Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2).
- Strong understanding in database design, modeling, and database standards.
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, ETL processes and indexing in SQL databases.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills while providing meticulous attention to details.
- Ability to work independently and have strong communication and collaborations abilities.
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid work environment, requires 3 days in office per week.
