Description

Join our team as a DevOps Engineer and take a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for the planning, installation, commissioning, support, maintenance, and upgrading of our core services, including our critical voice and data platforms. In this dynamic role, you will work cross-functionally with development and operations teams to drive efficiency, implement best practices, and ensure our systems are resilient and performant.

This role is full-time, Monday through Friday, working in our office in Lehi, Utah.Competitive salary, bonus, benefits offered.

Due to compliance requirements with certain government customers, this role requires access to systems restricted to U.S. persons (as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62). U.S. citizenship is required due to additional restrictions imposed by some contracts.

Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • In this busy and varied role, you will work with our core Voice and Data production platforms, virtual and physical infrastructure, applications, and monitoring systems.
  • The role will include the maintenance of essential infrastructure, including Linux operating system, security tools, applications, servers, software, and hardware.
  • The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for network security, intrusion prevention, and Administration.
  • The role will also have responsibility for data security and backup as well as threat protection and detection (Virus, Malware, Penetration testing etc.)
  • The DevOps Engineer will perform Server administration tasks, research event log warnings and errors, monitor resources, and install critical updates.
  • This role will include conducting routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.
  • Responsibility for the creation/configuration of virtual machines.
  • Managing and maintaining the public cloud infrastructure – AWS Cloud and Azure Cloud.
  • Firewall and VPN configuration to ensure maximum security and uptime.
  • Disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Ownership of projects from conception to completion, documenting technical solutions and sharing knowledge across the business.
  • The role will include contact with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
  • The DevOps team provides internal support to other staff members for domain, network, or other associated IT issues.
  • The role will include working on an on-call rota for escalation cases from the 24-hour support team that supports our clients, working on an on-call rota.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Administration role.
  • Strong, hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and/ or Azure).
  • Proficiency in a scripting language.
  • Solid experience with containerisation (Docker).
  • A firm grasp of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, Firewalls).
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a track record of owning projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with programming languages and systems performance-monitoring tools.
  • Linux server support skills – Scripting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with the virtualisation platform Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP/RTP).
  • Experience working within a SOC2 or similar compliance framework.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Expertise in Bash scripting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
